Weight loss diets

The Atkins’ Diet
Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight reduction whilst allowing you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, such as beef and hard cheeses.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. Because of this, it is known as a low carbohydrate/high protein, nutrition system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we eat less carbs, our bodies will use the fat we have stored and we will achieve weight loss

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
