Diet types

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the popular atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Although not accepted by all scientists, it supposedly allows fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, such as bacon and eggs.
With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition and weightloss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition system first created by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet is not exactly a fat reduction diet, but many people believe that they really lose weight when following it.
The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which puts one's body in a balanced state which is much more healthy than other diets, this is referred to as 'the zone'.
Sears claims that when your body is in this 'zone' it is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, doesn't build up layers of fat.
The key technique of the system is to maintain the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
