Diet Turkey Broccoli Casserole Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Diet typesThe Atkins’ Diet Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet is still widely used today. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it claims to allow weight reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, such as fatty meat and some dairy produce. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. Because of this, it is known as a low carb/high protein, diet. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The 'science' behind the atkins diet is that if we cut down on carbohydrates, we will use our fat and we will lose weight The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet created by Dr. arthur agatston which encourages that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston developed his dietary regime for people who have heart disease, as a result of his analysis of scientific research completed on other weight loss studies. Approved foods include, veal cutlets, turkey bacon, shrimp, provolone cheese, almonds, eggs and certain vegetables, like split peas, collard greens and sprouts. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition and weight loss system is based around the glycaemic index, a list of food types and a score illustrating the ease that the energy in the food type gets changed to sugar in your bloodstream. The theory is that slow release types of food (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help you to eat less food without craving snacks all the time. It is also very beneficial for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI types of food are useful in managing surges in blood sugar amount. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition system initially created by Barry Sears in a series of books. The Zone diet is not exactly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many zone diet followers find that they seem to lose body weight when following it. The main theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you can limit the secretion of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, in turn puts the body in a state of balance which is much, much more healthy than it normally is, known as the 'zone'. Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is perfectly balanced and, as a result, doesn't build up layers of fat. The most important technique of the system is to monitor and control the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure you get high levels of Omega 3 fish oils. |
