The low-cal diet

As most people know, a low calorie weight loss regime states that if you are going to lose weight, it is important to eat less calories than you need for exercise.

What is a calorie?
The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. The 'calorie' is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If a meal has higher calories, then it will turn into a larger amount of energy when consumed.

Low calorie foods include cabbage, watercress, apricots, low fat ham, and skimmed milk.

Brassicas, Healthy super foods that also help with your Dieting
(eg. Kale, Boiled potatoes, Turnips and Horseradish)
Altthough not always popular with children, these vegetables are full of vitamins (eg.folate and vitamin c), minerals (including potassium and selenium), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, isothiocyanates, and indole-3-carbinol.

Amongst most other great health properties, these contain isothiocyanates, which are thought by many to reduce the risk of cancer.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
