Diet information

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weight loss system primarily devised by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a fat reduction diet, however some people claim that they reduce a few pounds when following it.
The main theory of the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the secretion of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids which puts your body in a balanced state that is a lot more healthful than usual, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone".
Sears holds the theory that when in the 'zone', your body is working at its most efficient and, as a result, does not convert energy to unsightly fat.
The most important procedure of the diet is to control the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Dr. arthur agatston which emphasizes that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed his nutritional system for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific data completed on other dietary studies.
Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey breast, fish and shellfish, low or fat free cheeses, peanuts, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, like butter beans, cauliflower and mushrooms.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
