Types of diet

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last few years. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst allowing you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, like beef and hard cheese.
With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition and weight loss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet plan started by Dr. arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed his weight loss regime for people who have cardiac problems, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific research on other weight loss studies.
Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, chicken breast, clams, cottage cheese, peanuts, lowfat or nonfat milk and certain vegetables, such as chickpeas, collard greens and water chestnuts.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index nutrition and weight loss system is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a list showing types of food and an indicator of the ease with which the glucose in the food gets transformed to glucose in the dieters system. The believe is that slow release types of food (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite for longer and help to eat less food without feeling hungry.
It's also extremely beneficial for diabetics, as the low GI types of food are useful in managing surges in blood sugar levels.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
