The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

4 cup boiling water
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 tsp salt, (optional)
2 tbsp fresh or freeze-dried chives
Nonfat cooking spray, as needed
3 cup sliced cooked chicken
Salt, (optional), to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
1 can no-salt-added tomato sauce - (15 oz
1 package frozen corn - (10 1/2 oz), thawed
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Directions

Pour 3 cups boiling water into top of double boiler. Mix remaining one cup
boiling water with cornmeal. Add salt. Add to water in top of double
boiler very slowly, stirring constantly. Cover and cook 30 minutes,
stirring occasionally over boiling water. Stir in chives.

Spray a 9- by 9- by 2-inch casserole. Add cornmeal and smooth the
surface. Arrange chicken on cornmeal. Season to taste. Preheat oven to
350 degrees.

Mix tomato sauce, corn, sugar, olive oil, cilantro, raisins, and black
olives. Pour over chicken and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake 30
minutes.

This recipe yields 6 servings. Serving size: 1/6 recipe.

The onion and garlic family of vegetables is rich in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Although there is precious little scientific proof at hand, allyl sulfides are also thought to reduce problems with antiinflammatory effect, sterilization and physical exhaustion.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program first detailed by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet is not particularly a fat reduction diet, however many followers claim that they seem to lose a few pounds when following it.
The theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the amount of insulin and glucogen (both hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which puts the body in a state of balance that is an awful lot more healthful than other diets, which is known as the zone.
Sears states that when your body is in this 'zone' it is much more efficient and, as a result, doesn't build up layers of fat.
The key procedure of the zone diet is to maintain the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.
