The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

4 apples, cooking
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg


Directions

Core apples and cut into about 8 wedges each; peel if desired. In a large
non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples and cook,
shaking pan gently every now and then, about 5 minutes. Turn the apple
wedges over, sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and cook
another few minutes, shaking pan and spooning juices over apples as they
cook. Serve warm.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index nutrition system is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of food types and a score illustrating the speed with which the carbs in the food type gets changed to sugar in your system. The believe is that long-acting foods (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help you to cut down on food without starving yourself.

First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Although not accepted by all scientists, it allows weight loss whilst encouraging you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, eg meat and eggs.
With the atkins diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is often referred to as a high protein, low carb, nutrition and weight loss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil.

The 'science' behind the famous atkins diet is that if we eat less carbohydrates, our bodies will use up our stored fat and we will lose weight




The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which encourages that one should consume "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Agatston invented his system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a result of his detailed study of scientific data on other nutritional studies.
Good foods include, lean beef, skinless poultry, shellfish, feta cheese, pistachios, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, like butter beans, eggplant and mushrooms.
