The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
1 cup sliced zucchini
1 cup shredded or sliced carrots
1/2 cup red or green bell pepper strips
1/4 cup sliced red onion
2 cup flaked tuna
= (canned or from salad bar)
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp minced fresh basil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt, to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
4 cup cooked small pasta shells


Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for 1
hour.

This recipe yields 4 servings. Serving size: 1 cup pasta, 1/2 cup
vegetables, 1/2 cup tuna.

Exchanges Per Serving: 3 Starch, 2 Lean Meat, 1 Vegetable.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst allowing many of the foods you love, for example beef and eggs.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, weight loss regime.

With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

These orange and green plants are rich in alpha-carotene and beta-carotene thought by doctors to help in cancer prevention, particularly cancers of the lungs. The majority of these are also low in calories, so should be included in your weight loss program.
