The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

2 cup cooked rice cooled to room tempera, ture
1/2 cup quartered strawberries
1/2 cup grape halves
1/2 cup quartered kiwifruit slices
1/2 cup pineapple tidbits
1/2 cup banana slices
1/4 cup pineapple juice
2 tbsp plain yogurt
1 tbsp honey
1 lettuce leaves


Directions

Combine rice and fruits in large bowl. Blend pineapple juice,
yogurt, and honey in small bowl; pour over rice mixture. Toss
lightly. Serve on lettuce leaves.

Each serving provides: * 161 calories * 2.6 g. protein * 0.5 g. fat *
37.6 g. carbohydrate * 8 mg. sodium * 1 mg. cholesterol

Types of diet


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet is linked to the glycaemic index, a list of foods and a score representing the rapidity that the carbohydrates of the food type gets converted to sugar in the dieters system. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie those foods with a low Gi number), will keep you feeling full for longer and help you to cut down on food without feeling you are missing out.
It's also very good for people with diabetes, as the low GI foods are helpful in controlling rises in glucose amount.


The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system started by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which emphasizes that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed his system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a result of his detailed analysis of scientific research completed on other diets.
Examples of good foods include, broiled ham, chicken breast, clams, feta cheese, pistachios, eggs and certain vegetables, such as asparagus, lettuce and snow peas.
