The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss regime primarily invented by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a weight reduction diet, although many zone diet followers discover that they actually manage to lose body weight by following this system.
The science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to limit the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts one's body in a state of balance that is a lot more healthy than other diets, known as the 'zone'.
Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your body is much more efficient and, as a result, does not need to build up stores of fat.
The key technique of the zone diet is to monitor and control the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased levels of Omega 3 fish oils.

The Atkins’ Diet
Originating way back in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight loss whilst still eating many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, like bacon and hard cheese.
With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the atkins diet is that if we consume fewer carbohydrates, our bodies will utilize the fat we have stored and we will lose weight

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes eschalot, leeks and welsh onion)

The onion and garlic range of vegetables is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is too little real proof published, allyl sulfides are also thought by many researchers to help with colds, high blood pressure and insomnia.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are low in calories, so should be a part of every diet system.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
