Superfoods containing flavonoids
(inlcudes olive oil, kohlrabi, soya beans & basil)

The large family of compounds known as flavonoids which are present in these fruit and vegetables are believed to be good in fighting cancer.
Specialists studying the nutritional effects of flavonoids think they also have many other healthy benefits, amongst them, anti-asthma and antioxidant properties.
Many are also low in calories, so should be included in every weight loss regime.

Foods containing lycopene
(includes melon, papaya and sweet gourd)

The chemical lypcopene is a non-synthetic compound and a member of the carotenid family of phytochemicals. This chemical is the reason for the deep red hue of quite a few foods.

Fortunately, unlike many other nutrients, lycopene not only survives being cooked, but is essentially increased in efficacy by cooking.

. Its key advantage is that it works as an antioxidant and seems to be an asset in the battle to lower the chances of contracting cancer.

This useful phytochemical is the most efficacious quencher of singlet oxygen, which is linked with aging of the skin. It is also thought to prevent the progression of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
