The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index weight loss program is based on the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of food types and a score representing the speed that the carbohydrates in the food gets converted to glucose in your blood stream. The claim is that long-acting foods (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help you to eat less food without feeling you are always hungry.
It's also extremely efficient for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI types of food are helpful in controlling rises in blood glucose amount.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet system initially detailed by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet is not specifically a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many zone diet fans claim that they really seem to lose weight when following it.
The science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can limit the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of equilibrium which is more healthful than usual, this is referred to as 'the zone'.
Sears states that when your body is in this 'zone' it is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, doesn't build up fat.
The main method of the diet is to monitor and control the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with plenty of Omega 3 and omega 6.

Intrestingly, unlike most other vitamins, it is not damaged if it is cooked, instead it is noticeably improved by being cooked.

. Its most valuable advantage is that it acts as an antioxidant and seems to help to lower the risk of contracting cancer.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life.
