The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

6 medium apples, firm
1 sugar substitute to equal>>>
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 sticks cinnamon
3 whole cloves
1 1/2 cup cranberry juice, unsweetened
1/4 cup lemon juice


Directions

Wash and core apples; slice unpeeled into thick slices. Place in flat
pan. Combine remaining ingredients, and boil 5 minutes. Reserve 1/4
cup juice mixture, and set aside. Pour remaining juice mixture over
apple slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples
slices appear transparent; baste occasionally with the 1/4 cup juice
mixture. Serve Hot or Cold as a garnish for your Salad. Or by itself:
Yield: 12 - 1/2 cup serving. Each serving may be exchanged for: 1

Types of diet


The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet initially devised by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t specifically a fat reduction diet, however many zone diet fans believe that they reduce body weight when following it.
The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to control the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts the body in a balanced state which is much more wholesome than usual, known as the 'zone'.
Sears states that when in the 'zone', your body is perfectly balanced and, as a result, doesn't need to convert surplus energy to fat.
The main technique of the diet is to monitor and control the exact ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet is linked to the gi index, a list of food types and a score representing the rapidity with which the glucose in the food type gets changed to sugar in the dieters system. The claim is that long-acting foods (ie with a low Glycaemic score), keep you feeling full longer and mean that you can eat less food without starving yourself.
It is also extremely beneficial for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI types of food are useful in minimizing surges in blood sugar secretion.


The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet created by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should consume "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston invented his nutritional system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, based on his analysis of scientific studies on other diets.
Examples of good foods include, lean cuts of beef, chicken breast, oysters, fat-free cheeses, peanuts, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like split peas, celery and spinach.
