Ingredients
1/3 cup low-sodium fish or vegetable broth, defatted, divided
Nonstick cooking spray, as needed
1 tsp olive oil
1/4 large onion, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup Guiltless Gourmet roasted red peppe
20 oz fresh red snapper, tilapia,
sea bass or halibut fillets
Directions
To defat broth, simply chill the canned broth thoroughly. Open the can and
use a spoon to lift out any solid fat floating on the surface of the
broth.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat baking dish with cooking spray. (Dish
needs to be large enough for fish to fit snugly together.)
Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add onion;
cook and stir until onion is translucent. Stir in 3 tablespoons broth.
Add garlic; cook and stir 1 minute more. Stir in remaining broth and
salsa. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer about 2
minutes or until heated through.
Wash fish thoroughly; pat dry with paper towels. Place in prepared baking
dish, overlapping thin edges to obtain an overall equal thickness. Pour
and spread salsa mixture over fish.
Bake 15 minutes or until fish turns opaque and flakes easily when tested
with fork. Serve hot.

The low calorie diet
In a nutshell, the low-cal diet states that if you plan to become thinner, it is essential to take in less calories than you need for exercise. So what is a calorie? A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. A 'calorie' is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If a food type has more calories, then it will gives you more energy to use when your body burns it. Low-cal food types include boiled potatoes, cucumbers, apricot, beef, and eggs. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi (or glycaemic index) weight loss program is based on the glycaemic index, a list of food types and a score illustrating the speed with which the glucose and energy in the food type gets converted to sugar in your body. The theory is that slow acting types of food (ie with a low Gi score), keep you feeling full longer and help to eat less food without feeling you are missing out. It's also extremely beneficial for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in controlling increases in blood glucose secretion. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes eschalot, onions and welsh onion) The onion family of vegetables is high in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is little scientific evidence obtainable, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to help with blood circulation, arteriosclerosis and physical exhaustion. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also good for weight loss, so you should add them to your diet system. |
