Ingredients
2 lb chicken pieces, skinned
3 cup mushrooms, fresh, sliced
4 carrots, peeled, sliced 1/2
3/4 cup rice, long grain
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp bouillon, chicken, granules
1/4 tsp salt
Directions
PER SERVING: 265 Cal., 25g Pro., 27g Carbo., 6g fat, 67mg Chol.,
Spray a 12-inch skillet with nonstick spray coating. Brown chicken
pieces on all sides over medium heat about 15 minutes. Remove
chicken. Drain fat from skillet, if neccessary. Add mushrooms,
carrots, rice, onion, bouillon, poultry seasoning, 2 cups water,
salt. Place chicken atop rice mixture. Cover; simmer 30 minutes or

The main theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to limit the levels of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of balance which is much, much more healthful than usual, which is known as the zone. Sears believes that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its best and, as a consequence, doesn't need to build up stores of fat. The main method of the system is to monitor and control the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure you get large amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. |
