The Recipe Instructions

Ingredients

1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
1 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut 1 1/2" pieces

Directions

Mix oil, lemon juice, parsley, thyme, paprika, salt and pepper in a medium
bowl and add chicken. Mix to coat pieces. Cover and marinate in
refrigerator at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Prepare grill for barbecue or preheat broiler. Drain marinade into a small
saucepan and boil 3 minutes.

Thread chicken pieces onto 8 long metal skewers, leaving 1/4 inch between
pieces. Grill over medium-hot coals or broil, turning once and brushing
occasionally with marinade (do not brush with uncooked marinade), until
tender and cooked through, 10 to 12 minutes.

This recipe yields 4 servings.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes pickled shallots, white onions and spring onions)

The onion and garlic family is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Although there is not much scientific proof present, allyl sulfides are also thought to help with colds, sterilization and insomnia.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so are ideal for including in your weight loss regime.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
