The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet created by Dr. arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should eat "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston invented his weight loss regime for people who have cardiac problems, as a result of his detailed study of scientific studies on other dietary studies. Good foods include, lean beef, chicken breast, oysters, fat free cheese, almonds, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, like butter beans, cauliflower and spinach. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes pickled shallots, leeks and green onion) The onion and garlic range of vegetables is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is precious little scientific proof published, allyl sulphides are also thought to reduce symptoms with antiinflammatory effect, arteriosclerosis and physical exhaustion. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in every weight loss program. |
