Weight loss dietsThe Atkins’ Diet First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still widely used today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it allows fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, like meat and some dairy produce. On the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, nutrition and weightloss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The controversial theory behind the famous atkins diet is that even if our bodies use both fats and carbs to change into glucose, it is the carbohydrates that are burned initially. If we reduce your intake of carbs, our bodies will use our fat and we will achieve weight loss. Although inviting, this theory is divisive, not all specialists accept this as true and some even believe it is sometimes hazardous. |
