Foods high in flavonoids
(inlcudes onion, kale, kidney bean and cayenne)

The compounds known as flavonoids which are present in these fruits and vegetables are believed to have properties in fighting cancer.
Researchers investigating the effects of flavonoids think that they may also have most other healthy benefits, including anti-viral and antioxidant capabilities.
Many also have a low calorie count, so should be included in your weight loss program.

Superfoods containing carotenes
(includes carrots, rose hip puree and tomato puree)
These orange and green plants are rich in carotenes (alpha and beta) thought to help in preventing cancer, particularly those cancers involving the stomach and lesophagus. Many are low in calories, so should be included in your diet system.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet initially advocated by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a fat reduction diet, but many followers discover that they lose a few pounds by following it.
The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to control the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a result puts your body in a balanced state that is much, much more healthy than other diets, this is referred to as 'the zone'.
Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your body is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, does not convert energy to unsightly fat.
The main method of the diet is to maintain the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure you get increased amounts of Omega 3 fish oils.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
