The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) weight loss regime is linked to the glycaemic index, a chart showing foods and an indicator of the ease that the carbs in the food gets changed to glucose in the dieters bloodstream. The theory is that slow release foods (ie with a low Gi score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help to consume less food without being miserabl;e.
It's also very good for diabetics, as the low GI food types are useful in controlling surges in blood sugar levels.

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight loss whilst encouraging you to eat many of the foods you love, for example pork and cheeses.
With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, weight loss program.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The logic of the atkins diet is that if we eat less carbs, we will burn up the fat we have stored and we will diet successfully

Lycopene superfoods
(includes melon, papaya and spiny bitter gourd)

The nutrient lypcopene is a simple coloring compound and part of the same family of phytochemicals as carotene. Lycopene is accountable for the vivid red color of many fruit and vegetables.

Intrestingly, unlike many other nutrients, lycopene does not degrade if cooked, but is truly increased in efficacy by cooking.

. Lycoprene's most valuable benefit is that it behaves as an antioxidant and appears to be of use in the fight to lower the probabilty of developing cancer.

It is the strongest remover of singlet oxygen, which is connected with aging of the skin. It's also thought to hamper the growth of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
