Ingredients
1/2 cup white rice
1/4 cup water
2 cup skim milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup raisins
Directions
Cook the rice in 3/4 c water over medium heat until tender, about 45
minutes. Add the skim milk and sugar. Cook slowly over low heat
until thickened, about 30 minutes. Cook. Add the vanilla and
raisins and spoon into six serving dishes.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which encourages that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston developed his nutritional system for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific data on other diets. Examples of good foods include, lean beef, chicken breast, shrimp, feta cheese, pistachios, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like butter beans, cauliflower and snow peas. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a weight loss program first advocated by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t specifically a weight reduction diet, however many people believe that they actually manage to lose weight by following the zone diet. The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the levels of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of equilibrium that is far more wholesome than it normally is, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears states that when in the 'zone', your body is working at its best and, as a result, does not need to convert surplus energy to fat. The most interesting process of the zone system is to keep tight control over the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. Lycopene rich foods (includes apricots, red bell peppers & tomato sauce) Lycopene is a simple coloring compound and one of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. This chemical is accountable for the dark red color of quite a few fruit and vegetables. Unlike numerous other nutritional compounds, lycopene does not become less effective if subjected to heat, but is noticeably improved by being heated. . Lycoprene's most important advantage is that it behaves as an antioxidant and seems to be an asset in the fight to lower the chances of cancer. This useful phytochemical is the most effective eliminator of singlet oxygen, which is associated with skin aging. It's also thought to impede the growth of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels. |
