The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

1 can peaches packed in water - (8.25 oz)
1/8 tsp almond flavoring - to 1/4, (optional), to taste
1/4 tsp cinnamon - to 1/2, (optional), to taste
14 phyllo-dough mini-tartlet shells, pre-baked
1 pt fresh or frozen raspberries
2 oz grated semi-sweet chocolate


Directions

Drain the peaches and put them into a blender. Add the almond and cinnamon
flavoring if you wish. Blend until smooth.

Place the pre-baked mini-tartlet shells on a plate. Pour 1 tablespoon of
the pureed peach mixture into each shell. Arrange 2 to 3 raspberries on
top of the pureed peaches. Garnish with the grated chocolate and serve.

This recipe yields 7 servings. Serving size: 2 filled tartlet shells.

The phytochemical lycopene is a simple coloring agent and part of the phytochemical group known as 'carotenids'. Lycopene is the reason for the dark red hue of quite a few fruit and vegetables.

Unlike many nutritional compounds, this useful phytochemical does not become less effective if heated during cooking, but is really made more effective by being cooked.

With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that must be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.
