Ingredients
4 chicken breast halves, boned skinless (1 lb tota
7 1/2 oz (1) can tomatoes, cut up
3/4 cup mushrooms, sliced fresh
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
3 tbsp dry red wine
1 cl garlic, minced
1 tsp oregano, crushed dried
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp cold water
2 tsp cornstarch
Directions
Rinse chicken; pat dry. In a medium skillet combine undrained
tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, wine, garlic, oregano,
salt, and pepper; place chicken atop vegetable mixture. Bring to
boiling, reduce heat. Cover; simmer about 20 minutes or till chicken
is tender and no long pink. Transfer chicken to a serving platter;
keep warm. Stir together water and cornstarch; stir into skillet
mixture. Cook and stir till tickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for
2 minutes more. Spoon sauce over chicken.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) weight loss program is reliant on the glycaemic index, a list of types of food and an indicator of the rapidity with which the carbohydrates of the food gets converted to glucose in the dieters system. The believe is that slow acting food types (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite and mean that you can eat fewer food without being miserabl;e. It's also very good for folk with diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in minimizing surges in glucose secretion. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a diet system primarily devised by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet is not exactly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many people claim that they actually lose a few pounds by following it. The 'science' behind the Zone Diet is that if you can gain control of the secretion of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which puts the body in a balanced state that is a lot more healthful than usual, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears alleges that when your body is in this 'zone' it is much more efficient and, because of this, does not build up layers of fat. The most interesting process of the zone system is to keep tight control over the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure you get large amounts of Omega 3 fish oils. Superfoods containing lycopene (includes apricots, red peppers and tomatoes) The nutrient lypcopene is a naturally occurring coloring agent and member of the same family of phytochemicals as carotene. It is responsible for the vivid red colour of a good number of fruit and vegetables. Unlike many nutrients, lycopene does not become less effective if subjected to heat, but is observably enhanced by being cooked. . Lycoprene's most valuable advantage is that it serves as an antioxidant and seems to be an asset in the fight to lower the risk of contracting cancer. This useful phytochemical is the most powerful quencher of singlet oxygen, which is associated with aging of the skin. It is also thought by nutritionalists to slow down the progression of atherosclerosis. |
