The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index weight loss program is based on the gi index, a list of food types and an indicator of the speed with which the energy of the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters system. The theory is that slow release foods (ie with a low Gi score), suppress your appetite for longer and help to injest less food without craving snacks all the time. It's also especially beneficial for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in reducing increases in blood sugar levels. Flavonoid foods (inlcudes olive oil, fennel, lima bean and cayenne) The nutrients called 'flavonoids' which exist in these foods are thought by experts to have properties in helping to prevent cancer. Experts who have been studying the effects of flavonoids believe that they may well also have numerous other health giving capabilities, including, but not limited to, anti-candida and antiplatelet activities.. Many also have a low calorie count, so should be included in every weight loss program. |
