Diet typesThe Zone Diet The Zone diet is a diet primarily advocated by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a weight reduction diet, nevertheless many zone diet followers find that they really manage to lose a few pounds by following this system. The believe is that long-acting food types (ie with a low Gi number), keep you feeling full longer and mean that you can cut down on food without being miserabl;e. It is also very efficient for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in managing surges in blood glucose amount. The Atkins’ Diet Now nearly 5 decades old, the atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Although not accepted by all scientists, it supposedly allows weight reduction whilst encouraging you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, eg bacon and butter. On the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, nutrition and weight loss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.
