( includes pickled shallots, chives and green onion)

The onion family of foods is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is as yet, not enough hard medical proof obtainable, allyl sulphides are also believed to help with antiinflammatory effect, arteriosclerosis and physical exhaustion.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are low in calories, so should be included in every diet system.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Although highly controversial, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, for example bacon and hard cheeses.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, diet system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the famous atkins diet is that if we injest less carbohydrates, we will use the fat we have stored and we will diet successfully

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
