A low calorie weight loss regime
In simple terms, low calorie diet depends on the fact that if you want to lose weight, the important thing to consume less calories than you actually use. Definition of a calorie? A calorie is a measurement of the energy provided by food. A 'calorie' is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If a food has higher calories, then it will turn into a larger amount of energy when eaten. Low-cal foods include lettuce, bell pepper, apricot, canadian bacon, and bamboo shoots. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a weight loss regime first detailed by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet is not distinctly a weight loss diet, nevertheless many zone diet followers claim that they reduce body weight by following it. The theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you can gain control of the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts your body in a state of equilibrium that is much more healthful than usual, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears claims that when in the 'zone', your body is much more efficient and, as a consequence, does not build up fat. The most valuable method of the system is to maintain the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take large amounts of Omega 3 fish oils. Flavonoid superfoods (inlcudes cranberry, asparagus, yams & cayenne) The flavonoids discovered in these foods are thought by nutritionalists to have properties in preventing cancer. Experts looking into the medical effects of flavonoids believe that they could also have numerous other health benefits, amongst them, anti-allergic and antiplatelet properties. A good number are low in calories, so you should add them to your weight loss program. |
