The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program primarily created by Barry Sears in a series of books. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a weight reduction diet, nevertheless many people claim that they manage to lose body weight when following it. The main theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you can limit the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts one's body in a balanced state that is more healthful than it normally is, known as the 'zone'. Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, because of this, does not convert energy to unsightly fat. The most interesting method of the diet is to maintain the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure you get high levels of Omega 3 and omega 6. Low calorie diet As most people know, low calorie diet says that if you intend to reduce weight, it is essential to eat less calories than you need. What is a calorie? The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. A calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If a meal contains more calories, then it will will give you more energy when consumed. Low-cal foods include bok choy, tomatoes, melon, lower fat hot-dogs, and eggs. Superfoods rich in flavonoids (inlcudes garlic, spinach, lima bean & coriander) The large family of compounds known as flavonoids discovered in these foods are thought by nutritionalists to have properties as cancer fighters. Medical experts investigating the medical effects of flavonoids think that they could have numerous healthy properties, including, but not limited to, anti-candida and antioxidant properties. A good number also have a low calorie count, so you should add them to your weight loss program. |
