Weight loss dietsThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Miami, florida-area cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented his weight loss regime for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific research completed on other weight loss regimes. Examples of good foods include, veal cutlets, turkey breast, fish and shellfish, ricotta cheese, pecan halves, eggs and certain vegetables, like kidney beans, cauliflower and snow peas. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system initially invented by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a weight reduction diet, nevertheless some people believe that they manage to lose weight by following this system. The main scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you can gain control of the amount of insulin and glucogen (both hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which puts your body in a state of balance that is far more healthy than it normally is, which is known as the zone. Sears holds the theory that when your body is in this 'zone' it is working at its best and, as a result, does not need to convert surplus energy to fat. The main process of the zone system is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take increased levels of Omega 3 and omega 6. |
