Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, leeks and welsh onion)

The onion family of vegetables is high in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is precious little definitive proof obtainable, allyl sulfides are also thought by many researchers to aid in blood circulation, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so you should add them to your diet system.

Lycopene super foods
(includes apricots, red peppers & tomato sauce)

The phytochemical lycopene is a naturally occurring coloring agent and a member of the carotenid family of phytochemicals. Lycopene is behind the vivid red hue of many food types.

Intrestingly, unlike numerous vitamins, this useful phytochemical is not damaged if it is cooked, instead it is essentially enhanced by cooking.

. Its key theraputic value is that it acts as an antioxidant and appears to be an asset in the battle to reduce the risks of contracting cancer.

Lycopene is the most efficacious fighter of singlet oxygen, which is correlated with skin aging. It's also believed to prevent the growth of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it claims to allow weight reduction whilst still eating many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, eg pork and some dairy produce.
On the atkins diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, weight loss program.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The logic behind the famous atkins diet is that if we consume fewer carbohydrates, we will consume the fat we have stored and we will reduce weight

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
