Comments: For East Indian cooks, this is an aromatic milk dessert. For
Jewish cooks, it is not unlike their famous kugel. Their recipes call for
cottage cheese to replace the cream cheese and some of the milk, currants
in place of raisins, and cinnamon as the spice of choice. With few
changes, this low-calorie version of kheer could also become light kugel.

A low calorie weight loss regime
In simple terms, low calorie diet states that in order to diet successfully, it is essential to take in less calories than you need. The calorie defined? The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius. If your meal has more calories, then it will will give you a larger amount of energy when your body converts it. Low calorie foods include watercress, green peppers, apricot, low fat hot-dogs, and skimmed milk. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes garlic, chives and welsh onion) The alliaceae range of vegetables is rich in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is precious little scientific proof available, allyl sulphides are also thought by many experts to reduce problems with colds, high blood pressure and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so should be included in your weight loss program. |
