A low calorie weight loss regime
In short, low calorie diet is based on the fact that if you plan to achieve weight loss, it is essential to eat less calories than you need for exercise. What is a calorie? A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. The food calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise one cubic centimeter of water by one degree centigrade. If a food contains more calories, then it will will give you a larger amount of energy when it is eaten. Foods low in calories include cabbage, tomato, guava, canadian bacon, and white eggs. The Atkins’ Diet First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the popular atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow weight reduction whilst allowing you to eat foods that are normally considered bad for diets, such as meat and egg and cheese. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, weight loss regime. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The 'science' behind the atkins diet is that if we eat less carbohydrates, we will consume the fat we already carry and we will lose weight Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes garlic, white onions and green onion) The alliaceae range of vegetables is rich in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is as yet, not enough scientific evidence obtainable, allyl sulphides are also thought by many researchers to reduce problems with antiinflammatory effect, high blood pressure and physical exhaustion. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so are ideal for including in your diet. |
