Ingredients

1 1/2 tbsp salad oil
1/2 package taco seasoning mix
1 package microwave popcorn
4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded (1 c
Directions
In large bowl, cook oil and taco seasoning mix on High 1-1 1/2 minutes,
until hot, stirring once. Prepare popcorn as package directs. Add popcorn
and 1/2 c cheese to seasoned oil in bowl; toss well. Sprinkle with
remaining cheese. Cook on High 30 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes until cheese
begins to melt. Makes about 3 cups. Good Housekeeping magazine

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst still eating many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, for example pork and cheeses. With the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, diet. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour. With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The logic of the atkins diet is that if we eat fewer carbs, our bodies will utilize our stored fat and we will diet successfully The low-cal diet As most people know, the low-cal diet is based on the fact that in order to lose weight, it is important to consume less calories than you need. Definition of a calorie? The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. A calorie is the the energy required to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at normal atmospheric pressure. If something has more calories, then it will turn into more energy to use when consumed. Low calorie food types include bok choy, swede, apricots, ground turkey, and low-fat cheese. Superfoods containing flavonoids (inlcudes garlic, cabbage, adzuki bean & peppermint) The compounds known as flavonoids which exist in these fruit and vegetables are thought to have properties in preventing cancer. Nutritionalists researching the effects of flavonoids think that they may well have most other healthy benefits, including, but not limited to, anti-allergic and anti-platelet properties. The majority of these are also low in calories, so are ideal for including in your weight loss regime. |
