Ingredients
1 cup plain non-fat yogurt
2 cup cooked brown rice
2 tsp honey or brown sugar
1 each apple, chopped
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp raisins
Directions
Breakfast can be unusual too. This is a good use for leftover rice. It can
be mixed in advance and kept in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 days. Serve hot
or cold. Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl. This has lots of
options. Jam could be used in place of sugar and any fruit or combination
of fruit could be used. Makes about 4 cups.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, white onions and welsh onion) The onion family of foods is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is little real proof available, allyl sulphides are also thought by many researchers to aid in blood circulation, sterilization and physical exhaustion. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also good for weight loss, so are ideal for including in your weight loss regime. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a diet primarily devised by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a weight loss diet, although many followers believe that they lose weight when following it. The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to gain control of the secretion of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts the body in a state of equilibrium that is a lot more wholesome than other diets, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your body is perfectly balanced and, because of this, does not build up layers of fat. The most interesting procedure of the system is to control the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. |
