The Recipe Instructions |

Ingredients
2 loaves (1-pound) frozen white bread, dough
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup 1% low-fat milk
1 tbsp reduced-calorie stick margarine
1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 vegetable cooking spray
Directions
1 Because the dough has a tendency to drip as it bakes, I usually put
a cookie sheet or aluminum foil underneath the Bundt pan. That way I
don't have to clean up a mess in the oven when the bread has finished
baking. -- Rita M. Newton, Waukon, Iowa
2 Thaw dough in refrigerator for 12 hours. Combine 1 cup sugar and
the next 4 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, and cook
1 minute. Remove sugar syrup from heat; let cool 10 minutes.
3 Cut each loaf of dough into 24 equal portions. Combine 1/4 cup
sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a shallow dish; stir well. Roll
each portion in sugar mixture, and layer dough in a 12-cup Bundt pan
coated with cooking spray. Pour sugar syrup over dough; cover and let
rise in a warm place (85 degrees), free from drafts, 35 minutes or
until doubled in bulk.
4 Uncover, and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly
browned. Immediately loosen edges of bread with a knife. Place a
serving plate, upside down, on top of the pan, and invert bread onto
the plate. Remove the pan, and drizzle any remaining syrup over the
bread.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes eschalot, leeks and green onion) The alliaceae range of vegetables is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is not enough, definitive proof published, allyl sulfides are also thought to help with antiinflammatory effect, sterilization and insomnia. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in your weight loss regime. Carotenoid foods (includes cilantro, mangos and tomato ketchup) These amazing natural foods have high levels of alpha and beta carotenes thought to play a role in cancer prevention, particularly cancers of the lungs and stomach. A good number are also low in calories, so you should add them to your diet system. The Atkins’ Diet First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last few years. Although not accepted by all scientists, it enables fat reduction whilst allowing you to eat foods that are normally considered bad for diets, like fatty meat and egg and cheese. With this diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a low carbohydrate/high protein, weight loss program. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The logic of the atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbohydrates to burn into glucose and energy, it is the carbohydrates that are burned primarily. If we eat less carbohydrates, our bodies will use up the fat we have stored and we will get rid of some fat. Although tempting, the atkins diet is contentious, not all medical experts are in agreement and a good number of allege that it might be unsafe. |
