Foods rich in lycopene
(includes guava, papaya & baby jackfruit)

The phytochemical lycopene is a naturally occurring chemical compound and part of the same family of phytochemicals as carotene. This chemical is the agent responsible for the dark red color of many natural foods.

Intrestingly, unlike many other vitamins, it is not damaged if it is cooked, rather it is really enhanced by going through the cooking process.

. Its most valuable value is that it is an antioxidant and appears to help reduce the risks of cancer.

This useful phytochemical is the most efficacious eliminator of singlet oxygen, which is associated with skin aging. It's also believed to block the development of atherosclerosis.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, chives and green onion)

The alliaceae family is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is little scientific proof at hand, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to reduce symptoms with blood circulation, high blood pressure and physical exhaustion.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are low in calories, so are ideal for including in your weight loss regime.

Low calorie diet

In short, the low-cal diet depends on the fact that if you are going to diet successfully, it is essential to take in less calories than you actually use.

The calorie defined?
A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. A food calorie is the the energy required to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at normal atmospheric pressure. If something has more calories, then it will provide your body with more energy to use when your body digests it.

Low calorie foods include cauliflower, green peppers, apricots, lean ham, and low-fat cheese.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
