Ingredients
4 apples, cored peeled sliced
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 non-nutritive sweetener = to 2/3 cu, p sugar

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a shallow baking dish and place apple
slices on bottom. Combine water, lemon juice, and sweetener and pour over
apples. Combine dry ingredients; cut in margarine until it is the
consistency of large peas. Sprinkle over apples. If desired, cover with

Types of dietThe Glycaemic Index Diet The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weightloss system is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing food types and a score representing the ease that the carbs of the food type gets changed to sugar in your body. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to cut down on food without starving yourself. It's also extremely effective for people with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are useful in minimizing increases in glucose secretion. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition and weight loss system primarily suggested by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet is not distinctly a weight loss diet, however many 'zone dieters' find that they really lose a few pounds when following it. The science behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the secretion of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a result puts the body in a state of balance which is more healthful than it normally is, which is known as the zone. Sears states that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, as a result, does not need to build up stores of fat. The key method of the zone diet is to keep tight control over the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has plenty of Omega 3 fish oils. |
