The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program initially detailed by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a weight reduction diet, nevertheless many people find that they actually reduce body weight by following the zone diet. The science behind the Zone Diet is that if you can control the amount of insulin and glucogen (both hormones), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts your body in a state of equilibrium that is an awful lot more healthful than normal, which is known as the zone. Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, as a result, doesn't need to convert surplus energy to fat. The most interesting technique of the diet is to monitor and control the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take large amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6. Superfoods rich in flavonoids (inlcudes olive oil, spinach, yams and thyme) The compounds known as flavonoids present in these fruit and vegetables show promise in preventing cancer. Experts investigating the effects of flavonoids think that they also have most other benefits to our wellbeing, including anti-asthma and antioxidant activities.. Most also help you lose weight, so should be included in your weight loss program. |
