Ingredients
CHARLOTTE
1/2 cup mango nectar
1/4 oz unflavored gelatin
2 1/2 cup diced peeled ripe mangoes
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/3 cup plain low-fat yogurt
24 sponge cake ladyfingers
SAUCE
1 pt strawberries, sliced
2 tbsp sugar
Directions
FOR CHARLOTTE: Place nectar in small saucepan. Sprinkle gelatin over.
Let stand 10 minutes to soften gelatin. Stir over low heat until
gelatin dissolves. Remove from heat. Puree 2 cups mangoes in
processor. Place in medium bowl. Stir in nectar mixture, sugar and
lemon juice. Place bowl over large bowl filled with ice water. Stir
mango mixture occasionally until cold and beginning to mound, about
10 minutes. Fold in yogurt and 1/2 cup diced mangoes. Chill over ice
water 5 minutes longer, stirring occasionally. Arrange enough
ladyfingers over bottom of 8-inch-diameter springform pan with
2-3/4-inch-high sides to cover completely, trimming as necessary.
Halve remaining ladyfingers crosswise nad stand around sides of pan,
edges touching and rounded sides out. Spoon mango mixture into pan.
Cover with plastic; chill until set, at least 5 hours. FOR SAUCE:
Puree strawberries and sugar in processor. Release pan sides from
charlotte. Serve with strawberry sauce.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet system started by Dr. arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should be eating "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston developed the south beach diet for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his analysis of scientific studies on other diets. Examples of good foods include, canadian bacon, skinless poultry, prawns, cottage cheese, pecan halves, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, like chickpeas, collard greens and sprouts. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a weight loss program primarily created by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a weight loss diet, nevertheless many zone diet fans find that they actually manage to lose body weight by following this system. The main scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can limit the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts one's body in a balanced state that is a lot more healthful than usual, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'. Sears alleges that when in the 'zone', your body is working at its most efficient and, as a result, does not build up fat. The main method of the diet is to maintain the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with large amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. Foods high in flavonoids (inlcudes citrus fruits, kohlrabi, kidney bean & dill) The flavonoids which exist in these fruit and vegetables are thought by nutritionalists to have properties as anti-carcinogens. Experts investigating the effects of flavonoids believe that they could have numerous other health benefits, including, but not limited to, anti-allergic and anti-platelet activities.. A good number are low in calories, so should be included in your diet. |
