The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet system initially detailed by Barry Sears in a number of books. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a fat reduction diet, however some people find that they actually reduce weight when following it.
The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you can control the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, in turn puts one's body in a balanced state which is much more healthy than other diets, known as the 'zone'.
Sears holds the theory that a body that is in 'the zone' is much more efficient and, as a result, doesn't convert energy to unsightly fat.
The main technique of the system is to maintain the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure you get plenty of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
