The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

1 egg, separated
1 cup artificial sweetener
2 cup cornflakes
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1/2 tsp almond extract


Directions

Beat egg white until stiff but not dry. Fold in sweetener equivalent
to 1 cup sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfulls onto
greased baking sheet. Bake 350F for 12 minutes. Remove from pan at
once. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies, each cookie is
1/2 fat. 24 calories.

Types of diet


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weightloss system is based on the gi index, a list of foods and a score representing the speed that the glucose and energy of the food type gets transformed to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The believe is that slow release types of food (ie with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite and mean that you can cut down on food without starving yourself.
It is also extremeley effective for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI food types are beneficial in minimizing surges in blood sugar amount.


The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system initially devised by Barry Sears in a series of books and publications. The Zone diet is not particularly a fat reduction diet, however many 'zone dieters' believe that they lose weight by following it.
The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if you can control the levels of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then your body releases eicosanoids which puts one's body in a state of equilibrium which is more healthful than it normally is, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone".
Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, as a result, doesn't build up fat.
The key technique of the zone diet is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to make sure your diet has plenty of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.
