The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

1 egg, separated
1 cup artificial sweetener
2 cup cornflakes
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1/2 tsp almond extract


Directions

Beat egg white until stiff but not dry. Fold in sweetener equivalent
to 1 cup sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfulls onto
greased baking sheet. Bake 350F for 12 minutes. Remove from pan at
once. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies, each cookie is
1/2 fat. 24 calories.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weight loss system initially advocated by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a fat reduction diet, although many zone diet followers believe that they actually lose body weight by following it.
The main theory of the Zone Diet is that if you limit the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts one's body in a state of equilibrium that is much more wholesome than other diets, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone".
Sears holds the theory that when your body is in this 'zone' it is working at its most efficient and, as a result, does not need to convert surplus energy to fat.
The key method of the zone diet is to keep tight control over the exact ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6.


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weight loss system is reliant on the gi index, a list of foods and an indicator of the rapidity that the carbohydrates in the food type gets changed to sugar in the dieters body. The theory is that long-acting foods (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite for longer and mean that you can eat less food without starving yourself.
It's also very beneficial for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are helpful in managing surges in blood sugar levels.
