The low calorie diet
As most people know, the low-cal diet depends on the fact that in order to diet successfully, the most important step is to eat less calories than you need for exercise. Definition of a calorie? The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise one cubic centimeter of water by one degree centigrade. If something contains more calories, then it will provide your body with a larger amount of energy when your body converts it. Low-cal food types include green beans, mushrooms, grapefruit, beef, and bamboo shoots. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi (or glycaemic index) diet system is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of types of food and a score representing the ease that the glucose and energy in the food type gets changed to sugar in the dieters system. The theory is that slow acting foods (ie those foods with a low Gi score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help to eat fewer food without feeling hungry. It is also very beneficial for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in managing surges in blood sugar amount. Foods high in flavonoids (inlcudes garlic, fennel, kidney bean & dill) The large family of compounds known as flavonoids present in these natural foods are believed to be good as cancer fighters. Experts looking into the effects of flavonoids suspect that they may well have numerous healthy properties, including, but not limited to, anti-dermatitis and antitumor activities.. A good number also have a low calorie count, so are ideal for including in your weight loss program. |
