Diet Low-Cal Snickers Pie Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Diet typesThe Atkins’ Diet Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet is still widely used today. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst still eating many foods that are not normally available to dieters, eg beef and eggs. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, nutrition system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weight loss system is based around the gi index, a list showing food types and a score representing the rapidity that the carbohydrates of the food gets converted to sugar in your body. The believe is that slow acting food types (ie those food types with a low Gi score), suppress your appetite for longer and help to cut down on food without starving yourself. It is also extremely efficient for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI types of food are useful in managing increases in blood sugar levels. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet system started by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that one should consume "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston invented his weight loss regime for his cardiac patients, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific research completed on other weight loss regimes. Approved foods include, veal cutlets, skinless poultry, shrimp, parmesan cheese, pecan halves, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, such as lentils, eggplant and mushrooms. |
