Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, leeks and spring onions) The onion family of vegetables is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is precious little hard medical proof present, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to reduce symptoms with colds, arteriosclerosis and diabetes. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so you should add them to your diet. A low calorie weight loss regime In a nutshell, the low calorie diet depends on the fact that if you plan to reduce weight, then you have to consume less calories than your body normally needs. Definition of a calorie? A calorie is a measurement of the energy provided by food. The food calorie is the the energy required to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at normal atmospheric pressure.
