Weight loss diets

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index diet is reliant on the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of food types and an indicator of the ease that the glucose in the food type gets converted to glucose in the dieters system. The theory is that long-acting foods (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic index score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help to reduce your intake of food without being miserabl;e.
It's also extremely good for people with diabetes, as the low GI foods are helpful in controlling increases in blood sugar levels.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet plan invented by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages the consumption of "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston developed his system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a result of his analysis of scientific data completed on other dietary studies.
Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey bacon, fish, low or fat free cheeses, peanuts, eggs and certain vegetables, like asparagus, cauliflower and spinach.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
