The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it allows fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, for example lamb and butter.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, diet system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The logic of the famous atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbohydrates to burn into energy, it is the carbs which are burned initially. If we consume fewer carbohydrates, our bodies will utilize our stored fat and we will achieve weight loss. This theory is contentious, not all specialists accept this as true and some think it is sometimes unsafe.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index weight loss program is reliant on the glycaemic index, a list of types of food and a score illustrating the ease that the glucose and energy in the food type gets transformed to glucose in your bloodstream. The believe is that slow release types of food (ie those food types with a low Gi number), will keep you feeling full for longer and mean that you can eat fewer food without craving snacks all the time.
It's also very beneficial for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in managing rises in glucose amount.

Foods containing carotenes
(includes parsley, kale and tomato puree)
These amazing natural foods are rich in carotenes (alpha and beta) thought by many to play a role in cancer prevention, particularly cancers of the lung, esophagus and stomach. Many also help you lose weight, so you should add them to your diet system.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
