The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet system started by Miami, florida-area cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that one should consume "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed the south beach diet for people who have cardiac problems, as a result of his detailed study of scientific studies completed on other weight loss systems.
Examples of good foods include, lean beef, turkey breast, fish and shellfish, feta cheese, pistachio nuts, lowfat or nonfat milk and certain vegetables, such as split peas, cauliflower and sprouts.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet is based around the gi index, a chart showing food types and a score representing the speed with which the carbs in the food gets changed to sugar in your system. The theory is that slow acting food types (ie those food types with a low Gi score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to eat less food without craving snacks all the time.
It is also very useful for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI foods are beneficial in minimizing surges in blood sugar levels.

Superfoods containing carotenes
(includes paprika, mangos and tomato puree)
These colorful healthy plants have high levels of carotenes (alpha and beta) thought by many play a key role in minimizing the chances of contracting, particularly those cancers involving the esophagus and stomach. The majority of these also help you lose weight, so should be included in your weight loss program.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
