The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) weight loss regime is reliant on the glycaemic index, a chart showing types of food and a score representing the rapidity with which the glucose of the food type gets transformed to glucose in the dieters bloodstream. The claim is that slow release foods (ie those foods with a low Gi score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help you to consume fewer food without feeling hungry.
It's also very beneficial for folk with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are helpful in controlling surges in blood sugar secretion.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet started by Cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that one should eat "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Agatston developed his weight loss system for people who have cardiac problems, based on his detailed analysis of scientific data completed on other weight loss regimes.
Approved foods include, canadian bacon, skinless poultry, oysters, low or fat free cheeses, peanut butter, eggs and certain vegetables, like black beans, cabbage and spinach.

Wonder foods with carotenes
(includes carrots, turnip greens and tomato ketchup)
These fruits and vegetables are rich in carotenes (alpha and beta) believed by doctors be a key nutrient in preventing cancer, particularly of the esophagus. The majority of these are low in calories, so you should add them to your diet.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
