Carotenoid foods
(includes paprika, turnip greens and tomato puree)
These amazing natural foods are rich in alpha-carotene and beta-carotene thought to help in minimizing the risk of cancer, spefically cancer of the lungs. Most are also good for weight loss, so should be included in your diet.

The Atkins’ Diet
Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst allowing many of the foods you love, for example pork and hard cheeses.
With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we injest less carbs, our bodies will use our fat and we will reduce weight

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
